Judgement score calculator

Playing Judgement (Kachuful) at home? This scorecard knows how many cards each hand gets and which suit is trumps, warns the dealer about the hook, and adds up every hand for you.

How Judgement is scored

  • Exactly right: score 10 plus your bid. A bid of 4 made exactly scores 14, and a bid of 0 with no tricks scores 10.
  • Anything else: score 0, however far over or under you were.
  • Seven cards each in the first hand, one fewer every hand down to one (six to one with eight players). Trumps go spades, diamonds, clubs, hearts and round again.
  • The dealer may not bid the number that makes the bids add up to the cards in each hand: the scorecard shows that number.

Questions

How is Judgement (Kachuful) scored?

Take exactly the number of tricks you bid and you score 10 plus your bid. Miss by even one, over or under, and you score nothing for that hand.

How many hands are in a game of Judgement?

Seven with up to seven players: seven cards each, then one fewer every hand down to one. With eight players there are six hands, from six cards down to one.

What is the dealer’s rule, or the hook?

The dealer bids last and may not bid the number that would make all the bids add up to the number of cards in each hand, so someone always misses. The scorecard shows that number on each hand.

Does the scorecard keep my game if I close the page?

Yes. The scores stay on your phone, in this browser, until you start a new game. Nothing is sent anywhere.
