Bolt Zip privacy policy
Bolt Zip is a puzzle game published by Jogiba Gaming for Android (Google Play). This policy explains what the game stores, what leaves your phone, and who else can see it.
No account, no ads, nothing to buy
Bolt Zip has no sign-in, no account, no cloud save, no chat and nothing you write or upload. It shows no ads, contains no ad SDK and sells nothing. Coins are earned by winning levels and spent on boosters in the game; they have no money value. If a later version adds ads or purchases, this policy will say so before that version reaches anyone.
What the game stores on your phone
Your level, coins, win streak, boosters, sound and vibration settings, and when you first and last opened the game and how many times are saved in the game’s storage on your phone, along with a small log of game events that is never uploaded. Uninstalling the game removes all of it.
Analytics
From version 0.1.18, Bolt Zip uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played and which levels are too hard. It records level start, finish and fail, with the level number, attempt, time, moves, threads pulled, the longest pull, boosters used, why a level was lost and how many screws were left, and when a booster or a retry offer is used.
Firebase also records a random identifier for your installation of the game, where the game was installed from (Google Play’s install referrer), the first open, sessions, time spent in the game, screens viewed, the device model, operating system and app version, the phone’s language, and an approximate location (country and region) worked out from the IP address. There is no name, email, phone number or user ID.
Only the builds made for the store and for testers send this. Development builds send nothing, and so do versions 0.1.14 and earlier.
Crash reports
When the game crashes or hits an error, Firebase Crashlytics sends a report: what went wrong in the code, the state of the device, the level being played and a Crashlytics installation identifier. We use it only to fix bugs.
No advertising ID, analytics only
Bolt Zip does not use the advertising ID. The Android app removes the advertising ID and ad services permissions and turns off Firebase’s advertising ID collection, so current Android versions do not give it to the game. The game also tells Firebase that its data is for analytics only: ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation are all switched off.
Permissions
Internet and network state, to send analytics and crash reports; vibration, for the feedback you feel when screws fly and threads zip; and two that Firebase adds, keeping the phone awake for a moment while it sends data and reading Google Play’s install referrer. The game does not ask for location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
Who else sees your data
Google, as Firebase, which runs analytics and crash reports for us as a service provider. The data is used only to improve the game and fix bugs, never for ads, and we do not sell it.
How long we keep it
Analytics and crash data are kept by Google for a limited time under Firebase’s retention settings and then deleted. Everything else stays on your phone until you uninstall the game.
Deleting your data
There is no account to delete. Uninstalling the game removes everything it keeps on your phone and resets the random identifier Firebase uses. See Delete your data.
Children
Bolt Zip is a game for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
