Imli privacy policy
Imli is a collection of traditional board games published by Jogiba Gaming for Android (Google Play) and iPhone (the App Store). This policy explains what the game stores, what leaves your device, and who else can see it. Where the two apps differ, the difference is spelled out.
No account, no sign-in
Imli has no account and no sign-in. There is no cloud save, no chat and no user content. Imli itself collects no name, email address or other personal detail from you.
What the game stores on your device
Your matches, stats, streaks, the themes you choose and your settings are saved in the game’s storage on your device. They stay on the phone. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data erases them, unless your device’s own backup (Android backup or an iPhone backup) restores them.
Analytics
The game uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how it is played: small gameplay events such as a match starting and ending (with the game, mode and level), a tutorial begun and completed, the daily puzzle opened, solved or missed, a hint used, a purchase started and completed, a result shared, and a reminder turned on, off or opened, along with the device model, operating system, app version and approximate country, and a random identifier for this installation of the game. There is no user id. It is used only to improve the game, is set up not to use the advertising ID, and nothing is sent from debug builds.
Ads
Free players see ads from Google AdMob: a full-screen ad only as you leave a finished match, never during a match, a tutorial or the daily challenge, and never at app start. None appear in the first couple of days or before your third finished match, and then at most one per finished match, spaced a few minutes apart. There are no banner ads and no app-open ads. When you tap Hint, a short video plays and the hint is given when it ends. Remove Ads takes away every ad and makes hints free.
To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, AdMob processes:
- the device’s advertising ID, on Android;
- on iPhone, the advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt asks. Otherwise it is never read;
- your IP address, and the approximate location worked out from it;
- device and app information: the model, operating system and app version;
- your interactions with ads, such as views and taps.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google’s consent message asks for your choice before any ad is requested, and never before your first finished match. Settings, Privacy choices changes it later. On Android you can reset or delete the advertising ID in your device settings; on iPhone you can change your tracking answer at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking. Ads are limited to Google’s G (general audiences) content rating. How Google uses this data is explained in Google’s privacy policy and on how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Daily reminders
Imli can remind you when today’s puzzle is waiting. Reminders are off until you turn them on, and your phone asks for its permission first. You get at most two a day (around 9:30 and 19:30, your local time) and none once that day’s puzzle is solved. They are written and scheduled on your phone: no reminder, schedule or device token is sent to us or to anyone else. Turn them off at any time in the game’s settings or in your phone’s notification settings.
Settings the game downloads
The game downloads two small files from Firebase Hosting: config.json, which carries a switch for whether ads are on, and version.json, which tells the game when a newer version is out. These are plain settings files. Nothing personal is sent when the game fetches them.
Crash reports
When the game crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report: what went wrong in the code, the device model, operating system and app version, and a random installation identifier. We use it only to fix bugs, and nothing is sent from debug builds.
Purchases
Imli offers two one-time purchases: Remove Ads, which takes away every ad and makes hints free, and Royal themes, which adds more board looks. They are sold by Google Play on Android and the App Store on iPhone. The store handles payment; we only learn whether a purchase was made, never your payment details. Google Analytics for Firebase automatically records that a purchase was made (the product, price and currency), never payment details. You can restore your purchases in Settings.
Who else sees your data
Google, in two roles: as Firebase, which runs analytics, crash reports and the settings hosting for us as a service provider, and as AdMob, the ad network that shows the ads. We do not sell your data.
How long it is kept
Data saved on your device stays there until you uninstall the game or clear its data. Analytics and crash data are kept by Google for a limited time under Firebase’s retention settings and then deleted. Data AdMob processes for ads is kept under Google’s own policies.
Removing your data
Because Imli has no account, there is nothing to delete on our side. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its storage in your device settings, erases everything it kept on your phone. See Delete your account.
Children
Imli is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and important changes are announced in the game.
